As our Client Relationship Manager (CRM) you will be responsible for developing the Seattle market (typically divided into either North or South Seattle) and then managing all mortgage origination from that territory. This will include developing long-range research of suitable broker shops, developing your business plans for the territory including working closely with management to determine your needs for support from HQ staff (underwriters, processors, etc.), contacting owners and managers of broker offices, identify strategic and tactical ways to drive value and build the Client Experience, ensuring that brokers are receiving the tools, training, support, and assistance they need, and identifying opportunities for headquarters staff to provide value-added services. This position is much like a traditional "AE" role with a few very-notable exceptions. While you will certainly monitor and drive loan volume you will find that Sydion places more value on your ability to identify and build relatinships that are based on exclusivity with clients that value service first AND great pricing. This is not a volume-based position wherein you have to 'work' every loan and drive volume at the expense of quailty. Just the opposite. This is part of what makes Sydion, Different by Design!
The successful candidate will have: 7+ years conforming account executive experience preferably including 1+ years regional operations management experience or top-level responsibility for developing a specific territory. Experience building non-established territories is highly desired. Demonstrated experience with value-added selling and/or selling products or services that are not commoditized (i.e. relationship-based selling and/or selling services as points of differentiation with competitors). Proven track record of building a territory including developing strategic market development plans and then tactically executing on those plans to identify, qualify, and build strong broker relationships. Experience with conforming markets include Fannie and Freddie, FHA, VA, and equivalent programs, and products. Alt-A and/or sub prime experience is helpful but not required. A demonstrated understanding of basic government underwriting standards and a demonstrated understanding of the interrelationship between investors, underwriting standards, and loan approvals.
You must also have a high level of positive energy and desire to provide an exceptional Client Experience. Key traits will include an outgoing, relaxed, and personable style, positive outlook and can-do mind-set as evidenced by upbeat communication that leaves listeners feeling that their issues are important and their problems are solvable, and a high degree of professionalism as evidenced in how loan and business issues are surfaced, discussed, and resolved, overall appearance, strong business and personal contact management and follow up skills, and verbal communications capabilities. Experience working in an entrepreneurial or early-stage company and a willingness and ability to make positive contributions in an evolving organizational structure are highly desired.
