Position Summary: Accomplishes the relationship banking objectives of the Corporation by fully understanding the client’s present and future financial service needs.  Works toward obtaining new business (both commercial and personal) and satisfying existing clients by building solid, long-lasting relationships and connecting clients as necessary with specialists in other areas, such as CB Financial or Retail Banking, to meet client’s complete financial needs while maintaining credit quality.  Manages the activities of the Commercial Relationship Officers in efforts to meet established goals for volume, income, loan quality and mix.

 

Description of Position:

Coaching and mentoring of staff in alignment with the corporate vision. Fully understands the corporation’s credit policy and manages loan portfolio within these established policies.  Attends to the needs of present and potential clients seeking loans that may involve unsecured funds and/or credit secured by collateral. Interviews applicants to develop information concerning their business needs, desires, abilities, and earnings to determine whether a loan may be an acceptable risk. Obtains and directs the analysis of all necessary financial data. Conducts credit checks and makes plant or company visits as necessary. Documents all loans to ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements and to ensure protection of the bank’s interest. Makes decisions on  loans and terms if within own lending limits, or making recommendations to a superior. Follows current loans to ensure complete conformity with terms and cognizance of developing trends. Supports corporate business development goals through effective calling efforts on existing and potential clients, identifying business needs and corresponding sales opportunities bank wide. Manages troubled loans to determine potential loss and actively working to reduce loss potential. Researches and analyzes industry data. Represents the Bank in various civic and community functions to further enhance its image and develop or promote additional business relationships.

 

Qualifications:

3 to 5 years of Commercial Lending experience required. Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field preferred. Excellent inter-personal and communication skills. Possesses thorough knowledge of bank products and services. Exhibits strong drive for results and success.  Is continuously alert and responsive to changing client needs and formulates business strategies designed to enhance client relationships. Thinks through the client perspective and is committed to total client satisfaction. Efficiently solves credit and loan issues through systematic, methodical study. Handles multiple projects with ease and makes effective use of time and resources.
