Commercial Banking - Relationship Manager

JOB TITLE:  Relationship Manager

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Cross sell credit, deposit, fee based, and investment services to existing commercial and industrial and trade finance relationships. Develop new commercial and industrial, and trade finance relationships by cold-calling, networking, or soliciting using own resources and by working with marketing officers. Underwrite commercial and industrial, and trade finance credits including conducting and documenting: i) background and trade checks on prospects and principals; ii) assessment of prospects’ and customers’ business operations, trade and industry cycle; iii) formulation of proposed line of credit or loan structure and pertinent credit covenants; iv) analysis of historical and forecasted financial performance information resulting in recommendations for new credits, or renewals or exiting credit extensions. Evaluate and recommend the cash management needs commercial and industrial, and trade finance relationships. Direct Relationship Officers to underwrite simpler credits Administer portfolio of assigned commercial and industrial, and trade finance relationships in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures and in compliance with government banking regulations. Support other departments as necessary by providing expertise in commercial and industrial, and trade finance products and services. Represent the Bank in the business, civic and social communities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

 

The successful candidate for this position will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with prospects and customers, as well as with banking colleagues at all levels.

 

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, related field or equivalent experience.  Minimum of 5 – 10 years commercial and industrial, and trade finance banking relationship management experience to include business development and marketing responsibilities.  Proven interpersonal and verbal, written communication and credit underwriting skills.
