Commercial Credit Team Manager

The candidate for this position will travel between our Glastonbury and New Britain offices.Manages credit analysis functions generally with a large team, often in multiple locations within a large region handling a wide variety of commercial credit requests. Acts as a decision-making backup to regional credit authorities. Monitors regulatory and policy changes and ensures implementation of appropriate changes, providing training and coaching for staff as needed. Provides credit analysis advice and counsel to department staff. Ensures that own work, as well as work of any employees supervised, is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines, as detailed in policies located on Company intranet; policies include but are not limited to Fair Lending, Know Your Customer, Bank Secrecy Act and other applicable anti-money-laundering policies.Requirements: 4-year degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience required. 5-7 years commercial credit/lending experience including at least one year supervisory experience. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to apply them in a team-based work environment.. Developed knowledge of credit and financial analysis techniques. Demonstrated ability to manage the gathering, consolidation, analysis, and summarization of data to provide well-considered recommendations for all levels of commercial credit relationships. Ability to identify and quantify subtle business risks. Strong written and oral communications skills with the ability to negotiate and influence others' decisions and actions where express authority is not present. Strong self-confidence at all levels of conversation with the ability to assertively defend analytical and business decisions. Developed PC skills including demonstrated proficiency and capability in word processing, spreadsheet software, and internal software systems. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of credit and customer information. Strong interpersonal skills and a team orientation. Ability to coach,train, and manage staff in credit and financial analysis techniques. Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
