Community Banking Manager II

As team leader of the branch, you’ll manage the delivery of World Class Customer Service and be responsible for the administration of sales, services, operational efficiency and HR management activities to meet bank objectives in a Tier II branch. Develop a culture within the branch in which quality and continuous improvement on all performance accountabilities are understood and utilized by all employees.

 

Responsibilities:

* Oversee the delivery of all Sovereign Bank products and services

* Ensure that customers receive consistent, quality customer service that meets or exceeds their needs

* Meet or exceed assigned branch sales goals

* Analyze branch expenses and implements strategies to reduce overhead

* Identify, pursue and service business sales within defined limits

* Generate additional bank business through in-branch sales and phone sales

* Sell products to meet the needs of customers and prospects

* Participate in branch functions and community activities to promote bank's image and growth ensuring that Sovereign Bank maintains a strong local presence

* Direct the development and implementation and use of productive sales strategies and techniques

* Motivate every team member to promote and maximize sales

* Develop a team spirit among subordinates and supervisors

* Other duties as assigned or requested

 

Qualifications:

* HS diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred

* 3-5 yrs of related consumer or business banking or retail sales management experience desired

* Proven track record in sales management in a financial services environment

* Understanding of competitor products and services

Excellent interpersonal and math skills

* Ability to address groups of people in order to sell bank services

* Excellent leadership and employee development skills

* Ability to supervise and instruct, meet deadlines and to function in a fast-paced and changing environment

* Attention to detail and excellent customer interaction

* Strong PC skills including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Internet

* Familiarity with local community

* Ability to make independent decisions and utilize sound judgment

* Commercial lending experience desired
