Community Banking Managers

Staten Island, NY

As team leader of the branch, you’ll manage the delivery of World Class Customer Service and be responsible for the administration of sales, services, operational efficiency and HR management activities to meet bank objectives.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

* Ensure that branch sales goals are met or exceeded

* Analyze branch expenses and implements strategies to reduce overhead

* Identify, pursue and service business sales within defined limits

* Generate additional bank business through in-branch sales and phone sales

* Sell products to meet the needs of customers and prospects

* Participate in branch functions and community activities to promote bank's image and growth ensuring that Sovereign Bank maintains a strong local presence

* Direct the development and implementation and use of productive sales strategies and techniques

* Motivate every team member to promote and maximize sales

* Develop a team spirit among subordinates and supervisors

* Other duties as assigned or requested

 

Qualifications:

* HS diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred

* 4-5 years of banking or financial experience that includes business development

* Proven track record of excellent sales management preferably in a banking or financial services environment

* Commercial lending experience desired

* Ability to address groups of people in order to sell bank services

* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

* Ability to supervise and instruct, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced and changing environment

* Attention to detail and excellent customer interaction

* Strong PC skills including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Internet

* Familiarity with the respective community and commercial lending experience desirable
