To make your mark as Compensation Consultant you will: -Serves as primary contact for all compensation needs of assigned client group(s) (e.g. Customers Service Centers, Dealer Sales Support, Legal, Finance, etc). -Teams with HRC to work with client groups and address all compensation related business needs. Gain a core understanding of the business to developing tools and foster the education of managers as to match business needs. Develop, modify and implement compensation strategy and programs for client groups that align with the overall Toyota compensation strategy and culture. -Prepares initial and on-going project plans, including staffing, work assignments, budget and timeline. -Develops guidelines and other training/education and communications material. Works closely with HRCs throughout the process. Monitors additional needs for training and communications. Follows through as necessary. -Monitors merit and bonus budgets, and prepares reports for senior management. -Continuously seeks ways to improve programs and processes, including pay-for-performance link in all compensation programs. -Reviews TFS positions to determine possible equity or compression issues. Makes recommendations to adjust compensation if necessary. -Collects market data to identify potential premium pay issues. Works closely with recruiting managers to identify compensation challenges in the hiring process. -Provides expertise and guidance to HRCs in compensation administration. Counsels HRCs and managers on individual compensation treatment. -Ensures proper evaluation of jobs through senior levels. Serve as resource and subject matter expert to HRCs on the development and evaluation of TFS job descriptions. -Works with National Manager to facilitate and drive compensation related discussions and good decision making. Helps ensure wise compensation spending and high return on compensation investments. Serves as a strategic business partner and consultant/SME (subject matter expert) to business managers and other HR managers to continuously improve the value of compensation programs. -Partners with the organizational development function on performance management related matters, including pay-for-performance programs and processes. Seeks to continuously improve link between pay and performance through program improvement and education/communication. -Monitors relevant competitive trends and "best practices" and identifies TFS’ position compared to other employers. The candidate who fills this position will work a 9/80 alternative work schedule which means working 80 hours over nine calendar days, with the tenth day off. The day off will be alternating Fridays. Qualifications TFS is looking for individuals with strong business sense and practical expertise. Successful candidates must have: -5-7 years of progressive and varied compensation experience. -Extensive knowledge of compensation design and administration (base pay and variable pay). -Experience with pay-for-performance and performance management. -Extensive knowledge of market surveys and analyses. -Extensive knowledge of job measurement/evaluation. Knowledge of Hay methodology for evaluating jobs. -Extensive knowledge of applicable federal and state employment law, including FLSA. -Strong communication and facilitation skills — for all levels and functions in organization. Must be able to effectively convey compensation observations, trends and recommendations to senior management and other non-compensation managers and associates. Education: -B.A./B.S. degree in Human Resources, Business or Finance. -MBA preferred. -CCP certification preferred. Software Expertise: -MS Office, solid working knowledge of Excel and Word. Working knowledge of Access a plus. Knowledge of Peoplesoft preferred.
