Computer Operations Dept Mgr 5

The Manager, IT Facilities Infrastructure Technician is responsible for raised floor installation activities associated with the company’s main data centers.  Provides leadership, management, and oversight for the provisioning, support, and day-to-day activities of IT infrastructure resources, components, and services critical to the operation of company’s multi-platform, 24/7 data centers.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.*  Develop objectives and long and short term goals for assigned areas of responsibility consistent with corporate goals and objectives.*  Advise and consult on organizational procedural, work flow, plans, methods, procedures and analysis.*  Participate in strategic planning, financial planning, administration, and manage of IT according to business priorities.*  Oversee services for servers, storage, mainframe equipment, routers, switches, KVMs, cabling, and any other hardware located in the data center.*  Develop and promote operational standards, policies, and procedures for data center. *  Demonstrate the sense of urgency and commitment required for managing a 24/7 operation.  *  Evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.  Make recommendations regarding promotions, salary, and other personnel actions.  Work within the salary and personnel administration guidelines.*  Develop and maintain interpersonal communication channels to convey information internally and externally.*  Demonstrate the skills, behaviors, and attitudes consistent with the strategic objectives and values of the organization.Education and/or Experience: *  B.S. degree in Information Systems related field or Business Administration.*  Master’s degree or equivalent experience would be ideal.*  Five or more years experience in an IT management level role within a corporate data center.  Experience in effective enterprise class implementation and production support of applications. Other Qualifications:*  Driven success oriented, flexible team player that can juggle multiple and changing priorities in a collaborative fast-paced environment.*  Process driven approach and track record for introducing appropriate methodologies, processes, documentation, and best working practices.*  Capable management and technical skills to provide direction and support to managers and technical staff.*  Proven ability to function in an environment which requires flexibility, good judgment and intelligent decision making, often based upon limited information and/or extreme pressure conditions.*  Knowledge in technologies associated with complex multi-platform 24/7 data center environments*  Knowledge in Tier II – IV data center redundancy and availability as defined by the Uptime Institute. *  Thorough knowledge of current trends and developments in the field of Information Technology and Systems.*  Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, senior management, and customers.*  A foundation understanding of ITIL (Service Support, Service Delivery, and Business Services Management).*  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small and large group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization including senior management.*  Excellent computer PC software operating skills (Word, Excel, Project).
