Computer Operator

Our client operates a family of fully electronic trading platforms, creating efficient markets through innovative technology and market structure. Their market portfolio consists of an options exchange and a stock exchange.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate ability to monitor, operate, and manage all trading applications running on multiple OS platforms; assist team in executing system recovery procedures when applicable; and execute system recovery procedures during critical and off-line hours. This individual will update technical procedures and protocol, assist in department and company projects which require activities off of the 'front-line' of Level 1 and perform proper daily system checkouts, assigned tasks, and projects. This person must install and configure gateway for members and internal users plus verify DNS configurations for member firms gateways in order to establish a backend connection.

A Bachelor’s Degree or 4+ year’s relative job experience is required along with the ability to work overtime, weekends and rotating shifts. Experience with issue ticketing and reporting software is required as well as in-depth experience in an open system environment. This position will require interaction with various support groups, end-users and management of all levels. Must be able to analyze problems and solve them creatively; be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment is crucial.
Experience with Windows 2000/2003/XP, Microsoft Office Suite, Enterprise Management Software (HP Openview, BMC, Tivoli)UNIX (optional), VMS/VAX (optional) is required along with real time monitoring, Escalation Troubleshooting and Recovery, Incident Reporting and Communication. A strong working knowledge of HP OpenView or similar enterprise monitoring product preferred along with experience in a large support center or customer care center. You will perform and support software implementation and configuration change and documenting incidents, basic shift events and critical statistics in shift turnover. A routine upkeep of system procedures and contact lists based on assignments given will be required and supporting weekend testing based on a rotating schedule will be needed.
