Contracts Specialist

PURPOSE:

 

Responsible for the development, management, sourcing, negotiation and contract execution of corporate contracts for Downey Savings and Loan Association.  Corporate commodities include Information Technology hardware, software, software maintenance, professional services, telecommunications and other indirect services.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

Responsibilities include:Identifying appropriate sources of supplyReview and evaluate vendor responses to Request for Proposal’s.Create contracts to ensure delivery of services consistent with business unit’s requirements, price, Service Level Agreements and best practicesWrite business summaries presenting supplier selection criteriaCreate, submit and present documents for review and approval by various levels of managementMonitor contract performance for conformance to original proposal. Review standard contracts and determine need to extend or renegotiate.Provide resolution to contractual issues or problems with vendors on behalf of business units.Compile reports, analyzed data, and maintain historical contractual information. Manage other indirect commodities as assignedReport and document resultsLead process improvementsMentor peers as appropriate

 Demonstrate Best In Class contracts competencyExtensive knowledge in  Information Technology contracting Knowledgeable and skilled in obtaining cost savings using negotiation, third party research and industry knowledgeExperienced in the Request For Proposal development and leadershipFamiliar with supplier analysis and viability determination

 

 



 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

 

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

C.P.M. or other contracting credentials a plus

Five (5) Years contract administration or negotiations experience

Demonstrated cost savings skills

Experienced in supplier relationship management

Excellent computer, written and oral skills

Experience with Information Technology highly desirable.
