Controller

Company Overview:

Our client, a professional services firm located in the King of Prussia, PA area is seeking dynamic and detail oriented professional to become the first Controller in the 40 years of their company history.

 

Job Summary:

This position will report directly to the CFO and will manage a staff of six dedicated professionals and will be responsible for overseeing the monthly preparation of multiple financial statements for our locations throughout the country.

 

Key Responsibilities:

§  Direct and supervise the daily activities of the Accounting Department and all accounting processes

§ Maintain full accountability for the balance sheet; completing month-end and mid-month reports;

§ Manage monthly individual and combined financial statements including cash flow statements for multiple locations

§ Create and implement financial forecasting tools for all divisions

§ Responsible for all external reporting requirements

§ Measure actual results against budgeted levels and provide detailed reporting on major variances and provide subsequent periodic updates to the CFO

§ Cash management and tax preparation for auditors

§ Review monthly reconciliations of inventory, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inter-company accounts and cash accounts

§ Maintain fixed asset records and control; determine depreciation terms/rates to apply to capitalized items.

§ Assist the Chief Financial Officer in coordination of year-end audit and prepare schedules and documents for independent auditors.

§ Assures protection of company assets through internal control and internal auditing.

§ Monitors accounting systems to ensure internal control standards are being maintained and improvements are implemented 

§ Provides financial analysis of expenses, costs, revenues, compensation levels, etc.

§ Understands the business plan and assists the CFO in creating, updating, and maintaining the annual budget

§  Stays current with developments and trends in the accounting profession.

§ Development of policies & procedures to ensure the timely, reliable and accurate preparation and reporting of financial information in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles

§ Special projects as needed

§ Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

 

 Minimum of 8-10 years of Accounting and Supervisory experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance CPA certification is essential, MBA a plus but not required Strong analytical ability Experience within an organization with revenues in excess of $50 million Experience in multi-location business is strongly preferred Experience overseeing credit and collections Strong knowledge of MS Office and Accounting software Very accurate and detailed-oriented individual with excellent oral and written communication skills Thrives in a team environment Experience in accounting system conversion a plus Healthcare industry experience a plus

Base Salary Range: $80-$110k
