General Purpose:
The successful candidate selected for this position will assist Senior Credit Administrator in handling approvals for SBA, C&I, Consumer and Real Estate Loans and assist in credit oversight for San Diego Northern Region.
Essential Duties:
· Ensure that all loans made by the bank meet the credit standards and parameters as detailed in the bank’s loan policy manual.
· Review and approve new loans and renewals of existing credits within designated authority, which includes commercial & industrial, real estate, construction and mini-perms, SBA 7a & 504, and consumer.
· Work with handling officers to optimize loan presentation with an emphasis in clearly defining the loan purpose, repayment sources and collateral.
· Review loans submitted for approval to ensure proper risk rating and recommended changes as appropriate.
· Follow for delinquencies via the monitoring of officers’ weekly past due reports, and assist in maintaining Bank’s goals for delinquency, non-accrual and criticized/classified percentages.
· Review exception reports in areas such as financial and covenant/compliance monitoring and follow with officers for removal of exceptions.
· Approve loan downgrades, and upgrades as recommended by loan officers or internal/external loan review.
· Assist Portfolio Administration Department with the approval of servicing actions, and assist with strategies involving loan workouts, legal actions and the recovery of collateral.
· Review quarterly Problem Asset Reports (PAR’s) and assist lenders as needed.
· Provide training to lenders and other bank personnel as needed.
· Prepare Credit Admin reports for the Chief Credit Officer and/or the Board of Directors such as: Portfolio Statistics, Portfolio Volume, Portfolio Concentrations, Problem Loans, Delinquent Loans, Non-Accrual Loans, Foreclosure Actions, and other reports required by Credit Admin.
Qualifications Preferred:
· Five years of line experience
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Proficient in Word and Excel
· Experience dealing with the loan approval process, loan grading, regulatory issues, general credit administration functions
· Knowledge of Compliance and Letter of Credit a plus
