The person in this particular role serves as a MS SQL Server database technical expert by providing expertise, consultation, development, and administration of database technologies that support business critical applications and also manage a team of DBA's. The role requires someone who is experienced in the build, test, integration, and implementation of databases, and who can help ensure that database components meet both functional and technical requirements. The DBA Manager role requires strong business and interpersonal skills in addition to deep technical skills as well as experience in manage a technical team. This person must have good understanding as well as experience in application DBA support role vs. operational DBA support role and be able to provide insights to MS SQLServer policies and standards. This person must have good oral and written communication skills and may provide database guidance to the IT community. The person in this role reports to the Manager of Data CoE. To make your mark as the Database Administration- Manager you will: -Function as a strong and heavily experienced technology resource for use in managing, advising, and/or participating as a team member on projects for Toyota Financial Services. -Provide technical expertise in database design, development, and administration as well as integration with other technologies -Manage and develop data models to ensure business requirements are met and the business rules are enforced. -Participate with the project teams in preparing and executing all phases for projects. -Document all database configurations, database designs, and transition to Data Center Operations (DCO) teams for production support. -Develop, approve, and monitor detailed designs, specifications, and standards for Toyota Financial Services enterprise database development based on functional specification -Provide technical expertise and/or best practice to database management, database administration, data management and data governance. -Provide technical expertise in database upgrades and migration. -Develop hardware, software, and database specifications based on TFS reference architecture. -Define and communicate database development policies and standards. -Mentor associates on best practice in database administration, database designs and also managing data in TFS environment. -Participate in industry technical conferences to understand the technical trends and how to manage the new technologies in TFS Qualifications TFS is looking for individuals with strong business sense and practical expertise. Successful candidates must have: - 10+ years minimum experience in design, development, implement, support, migration, upgrades, and maintenance of MS SQLServer databases. - 5+ years minimum experience in managing DBA's -Experience in large scale project implementation and managing multiple projects at the same time - Understanding of financial services operations, knowledge of financial services and operations preferred. - ITIL knowledge and experience preferred - Oracle experience preferred General Technical Skills: -Technical background with experience in system delivery including functional and technical design, build, test and implementation and operational support. -Builds technical designs from functional designs. -Has strong knowledge of the technical and functional business requirements. -Identifies best practices in database upgrades, migration, data management and data governance and implements them. -Possesses good understanding of technologies such as ETL tools, data mining tools, various backup tools, HA solution and storage. -Experience in database security auditing process, design and implementation Database and other tools Specific Skills: -MS SQLServer 2000, 2005 required -Windows2003 required -Security in MS SQLServer 2005 environment required -Oracle9i, 10g, 11g desired -Oracle RAC and its implementation desired -Unix (Solaris9, 10, HP-UX 11x) desired -Security in Oracle9i and 10g environment desired Toyota Financial Services rewards both individual and organizational results with well-balanced compensation, benefits and perquisite programs.
