Database Analyst/Developer (Access or SQL Server)

Responsibilities:

Responsible for design, development, implementation, and maintenance of application systems including databases and database management systems. Performs scope and objectives, and devises and modifies procedures to solve problems. Prepares detailed specifications to develop programs and designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents those programs.

Meets with users to develop system specification for management reporting. Works closely with users to establish system specifications, and resolve problems and handle issues. May be principal support person for major systems. Act as technical business liaison between primary assigned area and other UBOC groups. (CBISG, STIP, OCSG etc.

Plans and organizes the development of technical support protocol.

Evaluates software and system problems and potential solutions to application systems requirements. May plan, coordinate and administer databases including issues relating to security and integrity of controls. Recommends system improvements, new applications and develops plans to improve service. Requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Conducts system architecture studies of new and existing database systems or subsystems for development of integrated systems which operate at low cost levels. Recommend appropriate platform and communication to clients working with IT Management to ensure development of efficient application systems.

Researches and develops and evaluates alternative systems solution and recommends the most efficient and cost effective solution for the systems design or integration.


Requirements:

A typical way of obtaining the knowledge and skills outlined above includes a B.S. or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field. Requires three to five years of systems development experience or extensive experience with leading edge development tool or language including database management and advanced knowledge of Access and Excel.

 

Preferred:

Some SQL Server database development or data extraction.

Bank Systems knowledge of ESB, SEI, Business Systems Objects, RCIF.

 

Profile:

Must be flexible regarding priorities and have the ability to work under tight deadlines.
