Default Servicing Assoc-Bankruptcy and Foreclosure

Description:The primary purpose of the Default Servicing Associate is to reduce and or eliminate any financial losses due to delinquency or unpaid balances of all products offered and purchased by ING DIRECT by establishing and maintaining relationships with Service By Other (SBO) providers and ING DIRECT vendors. The main focus of this role will be the servicing and oversight of the Bankruptcy and Foreclosure functions.Essential Functions:* Receive, validate new bankruptcy notifications and set up in servicing system* Develop and maintain relationships with bankruptcy attorneys, bankruptcy trustees, debtor's attorneys and ING DIRECT in-house legal counsel* Perform timely follow up with attorneys and bankruptcy trustees, follow up timely for hearings, discharges and critical steps and request referrals on delinquent bankruptcies and status updates. * Review claims for accuracy. * Assist in contacting past due borrowers and implement successful workout strategies and payment plans consistent with Bank policy to minimize and protect the company against losses.* Assist in efforts of fraud prevention.* Analyze and recommend legal actions, foreclosures and charge-offs.* Monitor judicial and non-judicial foreclosures. * Manage attorney relationships to ensure that accounts assigned are concluded in a timely manner and ING DIRECT's interests are protected.* Determine the best courses of action to minimize loss to ING DIRECT.* Respond to written and verbal inquiries in a timely manner. * Liaise with third party loan Servicers to ensure consistent application of and compliance with ING DIRECT policies. * Maintain working relationships with third party loan ServicersQualifications:Education:* Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma or related work experienceExperience & Qualifications: 3 years of loan servicing credit collection or default servicing experience preferably in a mortgage loan servicing environment dealing with consumer loans, home equity loans and first mortgages. Prior bankruptcy knowledge / experience preferred. Prior collections experience a plus.
