Summary: This position is responsible for managing and delivering LEU-required and supplemental training. Ensures that all law enforcement officers are properly trained by scheduling, staffing and delivering various training programs on the use of security techniques, appropriate behavior, and operation of equipment including use of weapons, fire prevention and safety techniques. Ensures that mandatory requirements are completed and all training records are updated. The level of work required is considered advanced and the individual must be able to work under minimal supervision. This job has direct reports.Job Duties Directs overall law enforcement unit training programs ensuring that mandatory requirements are completedCoordinates all new officer training and orientation. Delivers selected training courses.Supervises range master and ensures all law enforcement officers are properly trained in use of firearms and other weaponsTracks all system training compliance and Federal Reserve System training Responsible for FTO ProgramResponsible for all FRS Accreditation complianceMay research and locate new training materials/training aids and recommends changes to existing programs Remains knowledgeable of changes, trends and new developments in the law enforcement and security industry in order to assess needs and opportunities for training enhancementsAssists in formulating and revising department policy and proceduresIs responsible for LEU policy and procedure manual maintenanceCoordinates ‘soft skills’ training for staff including classes in verbal and written communication skillsAssists in selecting qualified instructorsResponsible for all instructor training and certification and armorer training and certificationRecommends supplemental training as necessaryParticipates in a high performance environment characterized by positive leadership and strong team orientationPerforms other duties as assignedEssential SkillsJob RequirementsBachelor’s degree or relevant work experience6 years direct work experience in armed forces security, military police force, law enforcement or public or private sector security organization. 1 year or more of supervisory or leadership experience.Familiarity with Federal Reserve training manual and requirements strongly preferredDemonstrated independent thinking and decision making abilitiesExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong organizational skillsStrong interpersonal skillsMust successfully pass annual fit for duty evaluation which includes physical and drug screen testingMust maintain a background which does not preclude the person from receiving successful security clearancePossesses and applies both specific and broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in the field of specialization to the completion of assignmentsDemonstrated teaching skillsAssignments may require work on any shift, including weekends and evenings/nights.
