Director, Financial Economics (3020826 RP)

The Director of Financial Economics is responsible for guarantee fee pricing methodology to assure both its theoretical soundness and practical relevance to the Credit Guarantee Business.
As part of the Credit Pricing leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the methodology of internal cost-based Model G-fee pricing: economic capital, regulatory capital, return on capital, assumptions, sensitivities, and implications.  You will also communicate to the general community the trade-offs between alternative approaches.

Additional responsibilities include:
Monitor and investigate external market credit prices on structured transactions, credit indexes, and CDS and use them to benchmark the fair value of our guarantee obligation.
Advise business decision making for possible hedging of credit risk or to transfer credit risks in mortgages.
Develop and maintain methodology to price forward credit guarantee contracts, concentration risk, and counterparty risk.
Work with the credit pricing implementation team, develop better numerical methods for Monte Carlo simulation and cohorting.
Manage a small team of financial economists and financial engineers including recruiting,  mentoring, and developing.

Minimum Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree and advanced degree required in finance, financial economics or quantitative field.
Ph.D. in Finance or other quantitative field preferred.

Minimum Experience: 
Seven years of financial modeling in a financial service related firm.
Demonstrated experience in solving complicated modeling problems.
Demonstrated experience in developing complex financial applications.
Relevant work with top financial service or risk management institution with progressive responsibilities.  Prefer experience in a trading environment involving structured transactions or credit derivatives.
Demonstrated exceptional communication skills -- written and verbal.
Demonstrated strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Substantive and frequent experience working with senior business managers.
Demonstrated experience in recruiting, developing, mentoring, and motivating people to achieve business results.
