Director of Sales & Marketing with Merchant Services Experience
Overview:
To set up and manage an inside/outside sales team of a fast-growing, start-up merchant services/cash advance company. Duties include: hiring, training, developing, and coaching a sales team of 6-10 sales professionals. You must have proven sales skills and a successful record of team-building.
Responsibilities:
Sales Manager will deliver strategies and sales growth while working with targets and KPIs to produce results. The Sales Department is to be expanded to an Inside Sales team of 10 telesales staffs, and an Outside Sales team with unlimited capacity. In both cases, the manager will be responsible for recruitment; motivation; “hands-on” personal coaching and training, especially in cold calling techniques such as prospecting and appointment setting; and how to build long term relationships with customers. Must meet business sales goals and manage staff, budget and resources of the Sales Department, while maintaining a consistent level of quality.
Sales Manager will ensure that the team is supplied with the maximum amount of the best leads needed to hit and exceed sales team targets, and will develop and implement sales incentive programs to meet and exceed sales goals. We will provide you with full support for implementation throughout the process.
The development and implementation of sales strategies for the business include:
§ Ensure the sales team is utilizing the most cost-saving and effective lead sources.
§ Develop a highly effective, motivated sales team with the right can-do attitude.
§ Recruit and train the right staff and maintain 75% staff retention rates (after probationary period).
§ Develop sales people from the training team to account manager positions.
§ Develop and execute programs that motivate, train and coach the sales team.
§ Increase sales in line with forecasts and budget projections.
§ Retain and improve gross profit percentage.
§ Feedback is to be gathered and given to relevant areas of the business so products can be continually improved in line with the needs and wants of the customer.
§ Analyze sales and market trends to customize sales strategy and maximize team effectiveness.
The focus is primarily on meeting and exceeding sales and revenue targets through understanding our product, our market, and our objectives. Sales Manager is responsible for ensuring the company achieves its goals with respect to sales and revenue and is expected to drive maximum productivity and efficiency of the sales team and work with senior management to develop and implement strategies. Sales Manager will also be responsible for periodically planning team resources and advising on where / how additional revenue could be generated.
Qualifications: Prior sales management success REQUIRED. Merchant services experience REQUIRED.
Ideal candidate will be someone with:
§ Strong closing ability;
§ Experience in sales, management and marketing roles;
§ Experience in B2B sales, new business sales, direct sales or Tele-sales;
§ A proven track record of successful leadership through excellent interpersonal, motivational and communications skills;
§ Proven ability to meeting assigned quota and revenue targets required.
