Enterprise Risk – Basel II Project Manager Assist the Enterprise Risk Group on the Consumer Banking Basel II project to develop PD, LGD and EAD models. Major ResponsibilitiesDay to day management and execution of Basel II modeling tasks: Acquisition, analysis and scrubbing of data for modeling purpose Building regression based PD, LGD and EAD models within standard software packages, applying industry “best practice” methodologies as well as strong theoretical statistical knowledge Model documentation and validation Application of strong analytical abilities, risk methodology knowledge and finance/banking knowledge Applying strong intellectual curiosity and cutting-edge analytical capabilities to challenging modeling problems, often working with sub-ideal or spotty data Applying strong risk knowledge to solve problems independently, without relying on daily supervision. Staying abreast of risk management developments and innovations, regulatory developments and industry news, retaining a good understanding of industry “best practice”.Additional Information Prior risk and/or Basel II experience a large plus Experience and deep knowledge of statistical techniques used for regression model building, including experience on industry standard statistical software (e.g. SAS, Stata, SPSS, etc.) Able to think out of the box and challenge conventional wisdom Position requires strong communication skills, as well as outstanding analytical abilities and the ability to work efficiently and independently Strong focus on accuracy and reliability, so as to ensure confidence in results Analytical degree from a leading university a plus (any degree) Prior bank experience a plusUnion Bank of California offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including a 401K plan.
