Equipment Operator/Scanner

Job DescriptionAccelerates the receipt and processing of remittances and payments in line with client specific instructions and standard bank operating procedures. This position is responsible for the scanning (image capture) and encoding of checks and remittance documents. Operates equipment to provide images of client remittance documents for further processing and encode checks consistent with MICR requirements and within defined process time frames to meet check transit deadlines.  With high speed/high technology automation equipment, prepares client remittances and payments in line with specific instructions and procedures for further processing. The incumbent will encode and scan checks, invoices, and other remittance information as specified, utilizing NCR 7780 and Imagetrac 5500. Additional duties may include but is not limited to operation of Rimage CD producer and the printing of TIDS, Work Units, and other miscellaneous headers/trailers essential for processing. Scans checks, invoices and other remittance and control documents according to specified instructions and procedures.  The incumbent will operate the Imagetrac 5500 scanner to capture images of checks, invoices, and other remittance and control documents in a high production environment. Equipment operation will require standing for extended periods of time while navigating software menus via touch screen to operate scanning applications.  The incumbent will monitor image quality (front & backside) as scanned images of checks, invoices and other remittance documents are used to complete processing in a high production time critical environment.  Operates NCR 7780 to encode checks and sort OCR remittance documents.  The incumbent will operate the NCR 7780 to encode, endorse, and audit trail checks and sort OCR documents in a high production time critical environment. Equipment operation will require standing for extended periods of time while operating encoding applications.  The incumbent will complete encoding applications (including printing sub totals, tray totals, and cash letters) to consistently meet transit deadlines while ensuring standard MICR print quality on checks are maintained to minimize rejects RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent. Indicate specific skills and competence's required to perform the job.  Requires ability to read, retain and follow instructions verbally and in writing. Must meet productivity and accuracy standards. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity is essential.  Knowledge/familiarity with general office equipment and ability to perform minor equipment/machine maintenance will be beneficial.
