FHA (Direct Endorsement) Underwriter
Trident Mortgage Company is an affiliate of Prudential Fox & Roach Realtors ®, serving clients in Southeastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Trident is the nation's second-largest REALTOR-affiliated mortgage company, securing approximately $2 billion in mortgage financing annually for homebuyers in Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Trident Mortgage Company is seeking an experienced FHA (Direct Endorsement) Underwriter for the Devon, Pennsylvania office.
The FHA (Direct Endorsement) Underwriter is responsible for the review, risk assessment and underwriting of FHA loans.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReviews file for compliance with FHA underwriting guidelines.Uses automated underwriting systems (DU/LP) for assistance in risk assessment. Compiles and distributes FHA information to processing and sales staff.Assist sales staff with structuring FHA files for submission.Educates processing staff on FHA and state bond programs.Responsible for payment of upfront MIP to HUD on a weekly basis.Reviews condominium documents for FHA spot approval compliance.Assists HUD delivery specialist in clearing FHA conditions which impact insuring.Makes manual underwriting decisions outside the scope of DU/LP.Mentors staff members to achieve direct endorsement authority.
RequirementsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum three years mortgage related experience in post-closing and warehouse line management. Ability to read and interpret real estate, banking, credit and mortgage documents and procedure manuals.Must have knowledge of MS Office including, Outlook, Excel, Word and Internet.Experience with FHA Connection required. Ability to learn new software programs as required for the industry.FHA Direct Underwriting Endorsement required.
