Federal Housing Administration Underwriter First Mortgage Required: Valid FHA CHUMS Number E-LOAN is headquartered in Pleasanton, CA. We are seeking to hire an experienced Underwriter for our First Mortgage business unit. Our valued Underwriters are expected to meet the demands of our customers with accuracy and speed. Our ideal candidate will be accustomed to working in a fast paced high production environment coupled with a dedication to providing outstanding levels of accuracy and quality. Responsibilities: · Review loan applications submitted by borrowers and make credit decision based on lender criteria. · Review credit packages that fall outside of the automated underwriting parameters. · Determine eligibility of borrower based on credit findings. · Run files through FannieMae, FreddieMac, Assetwise, and CLUES rules engines. · Respond to customer inquiries relative to declination reasons according to Federal regulatory guidelines. · Interact with Loan Consultant’s to ensure the customer is receiving superior service and the best product available. Requirements: · Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience in the mortgage industry. · Ability to function in a streamlined environment and focus on customer relationships · Two to three years of underwriting experience in First and 2nd Mortgages and Home Equity · Proficiency in MS Office and automated underwriting and tracking applications · Strong written and oral communication skills. · Previous experience working in a production environment. · Underwriter must have 2 years experience in underwriting loans to FHA guidelines, both manual and automated approvals. · Applicant must have a valid FHA CHUMS number and be in good standing.Please cut and paste your resume and cover letter into the spaces provided in our online candidate profile.
