Financial Analyst

A publicly held oil & gas exploration and production company with international operations. This highly visible position will report to Senior Management and assist with internal and external financial reporting; treasury and debt management; and other projects as assigned.  There is a potential for some international travel. Primary Responsibilities

-  Ensure adequate reporting controls to maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial results, including maintaining the financial and statutory reporting calendar

-  Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable authoritative literature, including performing technical research and making recommendations thereon

-  Assist in timely consolidated monthly internal financial and management reporting to Senior Management and the Board of Directors

-  Assist in timely consolidated quarterly financial reporting to both exchanges and various other statutory reporting requirements of the Company and its subsidiaries, including coordination with the external auditors, preparing MD&A and footnotes

-  Assist in monitoring treasury movements

-  Ensure accurate and timely reporting to the lender / debt compliance

-  Other special projects as assigned from time to time

 

Qualifications

-  Accounting, Finance or equivalent degree (MBA and/or CPA preferred)

-  6+ years relevant experience

-  Advanced Excel skills

-  Strong analytical, problem-solving skills with an attention to details

-  Ability to assimilate data and present it clearly and concisely in written form

-  Working knowledge of GAAP

-  Oil & Gas experience
