This position will support the Lenders Advantage business unit with concentration in the areas of financial analysis, financial reporting, and auditing. Specific tasks may include, but not be limited to, the following: Actively participate in financial data and GL month-end review. Perform analysis of trend and variance reports, research unusual financial activity and provide explanation. Provide recommendations for month end accruals and reclasses. Prepare reporting and analyses of financial performance involving multi regional and multi branch business unit. Prepare analyses related to financial and operational metrics, budgeting, cost allocations. Prepare ad hoc revenue and expense reports and analysis, develop recommendations and summarize findings. Update order/volume tracking reports and more complex data bases. Actively participate in budgeting process and provide support to internal customers. Provide ongoing support to internal customers (branch and regional management as well as to Accounting and Finance co-workers), explain variances and respond to financial research requests. Apply professional concepts, company policies and procedures to make proper accounting/finance decisions and recommendations. Designs and implements various applications for periodic and ad hoc financial reporting, utilizing complex electronic financial information from systems and databases. Coordinates, compiles, and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the organization. Assist in the preparation and distribution of annual budget plans. Compares and explains actual results against budget and forecast. Supports management team with ad hoc reporting requests.Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent combination of education and accounting/finance experience (3-5 years). • Advanced Excel skills with understanding of lookup and if statement formulas and pivot tables setup. • Intermediate MsAccess skills or hands on knowledge of other relational databases. Oracle, Discoverer, Hyperion and Essbase a plus. • Excellent system and analytical skills as well as experience with processing large amounts of data. • Works well independently as well as in groups and teams. • Solves problems according to company polices and procedures. • Works well under pressure. • Has attributes of being creative and motivated to take on challenging tasks, shows initiative. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Proven record of independent development of analytical tools and methodologies, including creation of spreadsheet based reports, tools and analysis. • Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize tasks as appropriate. • Ability to interact professionally with all levels within the organization. • Must be flexible and have the ability to adapt to a changing environment.BenefitsFirst American offers an empowered work environment that encourages creativity, initiative and professional growth.
