Financial Service Specialist

1. Position Purpose and Objectives

 

Correctly identifies needs of members and potential members; effectively sells appropriate Credit Union products and services while meeting all production goals; provides leadership to less experienced Financial Service Representatives and Member Service Representatives.

 

 

2. Major Duties and Essential Functions

1.  Use Service Standards in every work related interaction.

2. Performs any or all duties of Financial Service Representative.

3. Provides member service and independently researches and resolves problems within given authority.

4. Acts as a role model and provides leadership and training to Financial Service Representatives.

5. Provides leadership in security, robbery, fraud and disaster situations.

6. Handles advanced consumer loan and account transactions; provides transaction overrides as needed within authorized limits.

7. Takes lead sales role including assisting in goal planning process, in-branch promotions, tracking goals, and acting as liaison with Branch Service Manager.

8. Actively participates and/or leads process improvement teams within branch.

9. Performs "In Branch" administrative duties as assigned; including opening and/or closing branch; assisting and/or acting on behalf of the Operations Supervisor or Branch Service Manager with various operations and sales duties as needed.

10. Assists Branch Service Manager in managing consumer and business loan pipelines.

11.  Notary Public license preferred

12.  Completes annual recertification courses and skill based tests with a minimum score of 90%.

13.  Completes required courses outlined in the Individual Training Plan for this position and achieves at least 90% score on tests.

14.  Initiates Personal Self development and increases knowledge through own efforts.

15. Oversees platform and schedule of staff, provides input for performance reviews, assists with various human resource processes.

16. Other duties as necessary to achieve the goals of the Credit Union and the branch.

17. Maintains a working knowledge of BSA laws/regulations applicable to area of responsibility; complies with all BSA laws/regulations.

4. Specific knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position

Advanced knowledge of all financial products/services; demonstrated ability to  sales and service goals; proficient in computer skills including MS Word and Excel; working knowledge of related financial laws such as Reg. CC, Bank Secrecy; ability to work in a team; effective leadership skills. Proficient in typing and computer skills including MS Word and Excel.

 

5. Education: Equivalent to a high school education.

 

  Experience: Two years to five years of similar or related experience.
