Fixed Income - High Yield Analyst

Description:RiverSource Investments, an Ameriprise Financial company located in Minneapolis, MN is looking for an entry level High Yield Bond Analyst. This position is a great opportunity to build a career in Fixed Income credit research. The incumbent will work with a team of eight Fixed Income Analysts and five Sector Managers responsible for managing high yield assets in both owned and managed portfolios. AccountabilitiesInitially the incumbent will partner with a research leader prior to independently focusing on coverage of the non-regulated Utility industry. Responsibilities include:Perform in-depth industry analysis and research, managing independent research projects as requiredPerform relative value analysis for a variety of security typesAnalyze and integrate industry trends into actionable recommendations, gathering relevant data as appropriateIncorporate macroeconomic analysis into research recommendationsPerform financial modeling of security, company and industry information and assumptionsInteract with management from firms within the sector, attending company meetings and conferences as needed.Contribute to team strategy discussions, including daily market meetings.Relocation Assistance ProvidedQualifications:Graduate degree in Finance, MBA or related fieldChartered Financial Analyst (CFA) completed or in progress0 to 3 years work experience in securities analysis or finance-related fieldCommunication and relationship skills to appropriately influence and share ideas with Sector Managers and analyst colleaguesQuantitative and qualitative analytical skills to perform company, industry and economic analysis, including proficiency with software tools such as Excel and database management.Relationship skills to work successfully across organizational departments, and to interact with company management teams, as requiredSalary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceWe offer competitive benefits to eligible employees (including medical, dental, and vision plans).
