Fraud Investigator
Job Description: Identify errors and fraudulent items/transactions.Research, verify signature for selected transactions and decision and/or return selected transactions. Disposition and/or settle reject type and prepare transactions for return to the Bank of First Deposit (BOFD) or internal service partners, adjustment and/or paid item sort, for one or more of the following functions: Non-Sufficient/Uncollected Funds, Alerts, ASI 16 Review, Stop Payment Suspects, Dormant Accounts, Lundy Reject Analysis and Standard Outstanding Transaction Processing (STD OTP), which includes non-post transactions of No Finds, Holds and Pledges, Closed/In Process of Closing and Miscellaneous responsibilities. Requirements: MUST HAVE one to three years Fraud Prevention experience in making pay/return decisions on checks, imaged checks and electronic transactions. Intermediate to advanced research, analytical problem solving and decision-making, signature verification, loss prevention and settlement skills. Effective communication, comprehension and teamwork skills. Ability to operate personal computer (PC) and applications including Microsoft Office. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Demonstrated required skills in customer service, relationship management, policies and procedures, communication (including basic telephone and writing skills), flexibility in approach to work assignments, dependability, planning and organization and quality. Position requires making pay/return decisions for 4,000 to 6,000 transactions per week with an average value of $140,000.00 per transaction.Strong focus on productivity, quality and customer service.
