Hedge Fund Credit

Hedge Fund Counterparty Credit Individual will manage a portfolio of 35 hedge fund account relationships, and back up other officers on another 35, vetting and setting up new credit relationships, monitoring existing credit relationships, approving a number of trades and margins thereon daily.  Manage a portfolio of 35 hedge fund accounts: Ensure that monthly financials are received; review them for issues, and determine response if issues exist. Approve trades on accounts and set margins for individual transactions across a very large spectrum of products. Annually, review documents, limits, and financial wherewithal for each relationship and recommend risk rating, limits, risk appetite for relationship in the coming year. Job entails interacting with hedge fund clients (generally CFOs), salespeople on the trading floor, legal staff, operations. Vet new accounts for the Bank:  Run an onsite due diligence with a second officer to ensure that the client is creditworthy.  Write up full review of the client, recommend document terms to for credit approval, present approved terms to Legal for processing and negotiate credit terms with client until documents are executed.  Ensure that approved terms flow through correctly to the sales desk. Assist in training Junior analysts: Take on product responsibility in order to maintain the knowledge level on the team, competitiveness, completeness and consistency of margin levels across the bank.  1. Knowledge of trading products.  The list of products dealt with daily in this job include: dollar and non dollar repo, interest rate and currency derivatives, FX forwards and options, credit default swaps, emerging markets total return swaps, high yield bond financing, loan swaps, corporate bond repo, equity prime brokerage, equity derivatives. The more of these products which are familiar, the better. 2. Knowledge of legal documentation and document term negotiation: In order of importance:  ISDA, GMRA, MRA. 3. Knowledge of Hedge Fund Industry.  Or, in lieu, knowledge of broker/dealer industry. Third preference, regulated funds or banks. 4.
