We are looking for someone who has proven experience with automation of complex applications, and a focus on and commitment to automation. The candidate will report to the QA Manager. 1. Work with users and developers to define new projects to extend and enhance the company's proprietary financial applications.2. Create test scenarios and implement automated functional test cases that will serve as acceptance test criteria for enhancements and new applications.3. Work closely with developers and quality assurance members to run test suites and research errors.4. Work with the support group to reproduce production problems and identify gaps in the regression test suite.5. Work with developers to utilize and extend custom test harnesses for applications.6. Find ways to enhance the testing process with new tools, strategies or techniques.7. Provide technical leadership to the QA team.Requirements:1. At least 3 full years of demonstrable experience with either Quick Test Pro or Silktest. This experience should include an advanced ability to create objects and methods, and hand-coded test scripts using automated testing tools.2. Advanced knowledge of reusable coding patterns and object oriented paradigms as applied to automated testing tools.3. 1-2 years full-time experience writing in-house production tools or test harnesses with a modern programming language, preferably Java/Junit. 4. One or more years of full-time experience in an iterative development environment using Scrum-like methodologies, with experience of delivering working software to production through the entire lifecycle.5. Expert knowledge of SQL and relational databases.6. Intermediate to advanced UNIX knowledge including shell scripting.7. Knowledge of XML, HTML, JavaScript and scripting languages.8. Strong understanding of source code control, specifically cvs.9. Significant experience with configuring application servers (such as Apache or Tomcat) in multiple environments (Linux, Windows, Solaris, etc). 10. Ability to quickly troubleshoot and diagnose issues within the quality assurance environment and communicate that knowledge to a varied audience of technical and non-technical stakeholders.11. Experience testing both client-server, and web based applications through one or more full life cycles of an application.12. Proven experience with designing and implementing automated load tests for database-backed applications.13. Proven experience delivering multiple versions of one or more applications.14. Knowledge of financial securities and trading principles.15. Experience mentoring junior associates.16. Team oriented attitude.17. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.18. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.19. Bachelors degree with concentration in Engineering, Business or Technology preferred.Compensation and Benefits:1.
