Derivatives IT is in the process of a radical redesign of its IT systems and architecture to meet the challenges of a major increase in trading volumes as well as improved STP and control. Changes and new systems implemented to date include:

q A new XML based front-to-back database;q New (.NET) trade capture screens;q STP workflows and operations systems; q Risk management and pricing systems;q Improved processes and control around the use of Excel.The benefits to the business of the STP improvements have already made a major impact and the architecture will allow IT to rapidly react to future changes and growth in the derivatives business. The new technical platform will also facilitate the firm’s ability to innovate in the financial markets. This strategy was recently documented in Risk Magazine, Aug 2003.The business is committed to this change programmer; consequently, Derivatives IT grew by 25% in 2003, and we plan to grow by another 25% in 2004. Our revenue growth plans extend to (at least) 2006 and Derivatives is seen as being at the forefront for CSFB.q This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to be involved in a high profile strategic project within Derivatives IT. q The candidate will play a crucial role in this large-scale project of migration of Spreadsheets to a Risk Management Systemq The person would be responsible for working on tactical fixes and short term development items as well as involved in the implementation of the strategic management system.q The Person would be responsible in supporting Front Office, Controllers, Risk Managers on day to day issues with PNL and Riskq The implementation role is an extremely varied one. It includes aspects of Business Analysis, IT Development and Front Office Support. q The easiest way to describe the role is to look at the broad interaction both the development and the implementation roles offers:o  Front Office § Talking to traders, gathering their requirements for new books, products or functionality. § Solving second line problems or valuation queries. §   Creating XML configuration, working thro’ issues in complex VBA/EXCEL sheets§ Testing changes and obtaining sign off for release.§ The candidate would also interact with our Front Office Quants team on modeling methodologies and issues.§ IT - Communication of bugs or requirements to the IT Development teams§ The person will need to assist in interacting with developers in explaining the issues, working through software set up, assisting in releasing the software§ Support Functions - Ensuring the system satisfies the requirements of the risk control functions. § Job will include assisting in the documentation of testing and release plans, understanding and the ability to problem solve data quality§ Resolving the issues of Product Control and Risk Management pro-actively. § The ability to understand and balance the often-conflicting requirements between Front and Back Office is very important here since the system will have a very diverse user base.
