Industry Analyst

Global Credit Services is a premier provider of credit risk research and analysis to corporate America, with more than 70% of the Fortune 1,000 as customers.  Founded in 1996, Global is a rapidly growing, privately held risk management company located in New York City.

 

We are seeking a motivated and energetic individual to join our corporate credit and research group as an Industry Analyst.  This is an outstanding opportunity to have an immediate and meaningful impact while gaining invaluable exposure to the retail industry.  The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with the investigative curiosity to deliver insightful, actionable information to the supply chain.

 SUMMARY OF POSITION:

 

The ideal candidate will contribute to the research and writing of in-depth company and industry specific reports within various retail and wholesale sectors.  In this role you will be responsible for completing written financial reviews and industry research, understanding, and presenting the credit risks and trends for specific companies and industry sectors.  In addition, this individual will compile and analyze quantitative and qualitative as well as prepare and present materials for clients on an as needed basis.  You should have very strong financial, analytical and writing skills and should be able to handle multiple projects. Timeliness and the ability to work in a fast paced environment are crucial.  While not required, exposure to the retail industry is a plus. 

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

· Perform in depth analysis of companies and credit trends within various retail and  wholesale sectors

· Speak with senior management to obtain company and industry information

· Conduct topical and industry research

· Responsible for meeting specific deadlines

· Support research team on an ad-hoc basis for any special projects or client needs

· Prepare and perform industry presentations to clients and reported companies

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

· Minimum 1-6 years work experience

· 4 Year College Degree

· Formal credit training or related advanced degree a plus

· Self-starter with strong work ethic and the ability to work independently

· Must have a strong desire to learn and attention to detail

· Capacity to quickly digest substantial volumes of information

· Superior quantitative, analytical and communication (verbal and written) skills (writing samples required)

· Good organizational and time-management skills

· Strong communication skills, must be able to interact with clients and all levels of management

· Excellent computer and internet skills, must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
