To apply for this position, it is essential you have a PhD in a quantitative subject from a top tier institution. Team members have PhD's in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Theoretical Physics, Statistics. Ivy league schools such as IIT, MIT, Carnegie Mellon, Harvard or the like are highly favoured as are high GPA scores above 3.8. Relevant coursework that you will have carried out through your graduate studies will include stochastic calculus, numerical methods for ODEs and PDEs, derivatives or advanced courses in probability and statistics. Coding is an integral part of the job so your computer skills must include C/ C++. You will be given programming tests at the first interview stage. Internships are a bonus and candidates who have spent time on Quantitative Research desks within investment Banks or hedge funds throughout the course of their studies will be extremely valuable to the desk. In addition, if you have any examples of publicized research papers or personal outstanding achievements such as awards or olympiad competition titles to demonstrate your ability for the job -these put you at an advantage.  The client is looking for junior quantitative analysts who can start a job in the next few months.
