Impounds, collections or related areas. The position activities requires thorough knowledge of loan service and supervisory planning. Performs contacts with other supervisors on assigned activities. Supervises loan service employees performing a variety of loan service processing related clerical duties. Typical sections supervised include loan and borrower related exception processing, delinquency control/liquidation, manual control and suspense accounting, impounds or collections. Contributes to establishment of department goals and implements goals, plans and schedules. Assigns routine tasks and special projects to loan service personnel. Oversees the processing of work following department procedure and standards and external regulations. Evaluates work results by supervision of employees and preparation and monitoring of department records and reports. Handles difficult and varied department inquiries referred by representatives or clerks. Receives and evaluates the phone or written inquiries. Provides pertinent information on routine operating methods and procedures used by the department. Refers difficult questions to manager or appropriate personnel in other departments. Communicates by telephone or written correspondence with a variety of outside institutions or agencies. Receives and responds to technical inquiries about the department or passes along routine information. Oversees the preparation and analysis of monthly progress reports and accounting reports covering the processing and checking of documents. Complies reports from status reports, productivity reports and other source documents. Prepares routine analysis Manager. Implements procedures required for processing of work. Studies and evaluates existing procedures used in the department. Recommends changes to improve operations and increase cost effectiveness. Keeps abreast of administrative methods and techniques used in department computer applications, data processing and general loan service. Keeps apprised of federal, state and local laws and regulations that affect department activities. Monitors the budget performance for assigned department. Identifies and evaluates budget variances. Recommends changes in budget to supervisor. Supervises and conducts Human Resources programs for the department including hiring, training, performance evaluation, merit review, employee discipline, compensation, affirmative action and related matters. Performs related work as required. Salesmanship; good working knowledge of loans and lending; knowledge of FHLMC and FNMA guidelines; knowledge of loan documents; basic state and federal laws applicable to lending; strong communication skills; good basic math skills; operation of computer terminal; operation of PC and standard software packages; human relations skills to supervise and lead employees; knowledge of human resources policies; knowledge of department data processing systems; report preparation; knowledge of personal finance statement preparation. Knowledge of department operations as well as methods used in related loan service matters. Supervisory skills to coordinate the activities of two or more sections to meet department objectives. Ability to lead and motivate others. Content, intent and application of local, state and/or federal laws/regulatory requirements as they relate to the assigned functions(s). Concepts, standards and procedures related to collections and secondary market/investor requirements and guidelines. Practices and legal issues relating to staff supervision. Content and application of the Bank’s loan programs/products as they pertain to loan servicing. Operation and application of loan servicing data support systems and remittance processor equipment. Understand and apply complex, conflicting regulations. Communicate effectively in verbal and written communications. Implement and maintain sound policies, standards and procedures. Use automated systems and operate office equipment at an acceptable level. Identify operational deficiencies and recommend and implement effective corrective action. Apply sound judgment in making decisions in accordance with operational policies. Establish and maintain effective working relationships and convey performance objectives to subordinate staff and assess degree of individual attainment. Understand and apply effective interviewing techniques. Education /Experience Requiresments: Bachelors degree or related experience. Three to six years of loan servicing with progressively added responsibility. Must be a proven supervisor or leader. Working experience or expertise in one or more loan service activity.
