Loan Service Counselor / Collector

Our Loan Service Counselor will be responsible for collecting on auto loans 5 to 50 days past due. In addition, there will be daily interaction with the supervisory and management team to collect on delinquent accounts, prevent chargeoffs and maintain good customer relations with borrowers. Responsibilities: Review delinquent accounts and determine the actions required Obtain promise-to-pay from borrowers Comply with collection practices to include Right to Privacy Act Communicate with Collections Manager regularly regarding collection/delinquency tends, accounts in queue and problem accounts Maintain up-to-date documentation online for all accounts Perform skip tracing to locate customers and collateral Maintain acceptable levels of call volumes and Promise-to-Pays (PTPs) Field chase accounts as needed Work overtime as required by management Knowledge of collections system, tools and practices Qualifications: - Typically requires a minimum of one year or more collections experience and/or customer service experience preferred. - Strong problem solving skills - Good communication and negotiation skills - Computer literate - High School or equivalent certificate required.
