Join our fast-paced Call Center as a Member Service Representative I responsible for determining Members’ financial needs and making referrals where necessary, promoting the Credit Union’s product line, processing new accounts/loan applications, resolving member account/loan inquires and assisting members to the fullest extent possible. Answer routine telephone calls as well as e-mail inquires, web chat inquiries, and written correspondence for the entire UNFCU organization. Communicates with both domestic and international members and merchants, and provides the appropriate answers or referrals.
Interview members to determine their present and future financial needs and make the necessary recommendations or referrals. This includes but is not limited to Cross-sell Credit Union products and services, and promoting new business lines that will satisfy member needs.
Investigate routine member account/loan issues, determines action necessary to resolve the issue and ensures that this action is taken in a timely fashion. Follow up to ensure that the issue is corrected, and keep Members informed of the status of their issues. Refers more complex issues to MSRII and MSRIII.
Review, verify and process new membership accounts. Accept and review member consumer loan applications and follow up with appropriate action.
Process legal documents and decedent accounts in accordance with applicable regulations.
Provide support and develop a good working relationship with all Member Service team members.
Qualified candidates will possess a High School graduate certificate and 1-2 years banking experience in a customer service function, as well as knowledge of regulations pertaining to accounts, services, confidentiality, disclosure requirements and lending. Essential to this position are excellent oral and written communications skills, strong computer and typing skills and a willingness to work rotating shifts and flexible hours, including overtime.
Bilingual skills in Spanish and/or French is a huge plus! Please indicate in your resume submission if you have any foreign language skills - must be fluent in oral and written communication.
