Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule

Hours per week: 40
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Qualifications

Undergraduate Degree preferred, not required.
Three years sales experience is preferred, but will consider strong candidates with at least 6 months selling experience.
Selling experience should include cold calling and referral based selling, preferably business to business.
Experience in contract negotiations, proposals, and presentations.
Proven ability to develop new sales streams with a strong track record in sales goal achievement.
Knowledge of merchant services, credit card industry, and banking services is a plus, but not required.
Working knowledge of banking operations and cash management functions.
Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point).
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple duties and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

This outside sales position is responsible for the production and development of Merchant Services banking opportunities for both new and existing Citizens/Charter One Bank's business customers services by the branches or Business Development Officers (BDOS). These businesses typically generate less than $10mm in annual revenues.

Work closely with the assigned branches and Business Development Officers (BDOs) to identify Merchant Services opportunities among the existing client base or prospects. Have the ability to develop a Merchant Services prospect list in conjunction with the branches and BDOs.

Handle all aspects of direct selling including sales calls, customer meetings, presentations, proposals, follow-up, analysis of competitor statements and contract negotiation. Attend and participate in bank sponsored meetings to generate referrals and respond to assigned leads within 24-48 hours of receiving the lead. Participate in joint calls with the Branch managers and BDOs. Develop relationships with key branches and banking officers and managers in order to build, grow, and sustain Merchant Services business or other product and services offered by RBS Lynk.
