Mortgage Loan Officer - Strong Commission Split w/ Health Benefits

Job Purpose:

An external loan officer to solicit mortgage loan business from existing contacts and develops new sources of mortgage business.  Increases mortgage loan funding by developing business contacts; attracting mortgage customers; participating in the community and marketing to potential new clients. 

Duties:

* Attracts new mortgage loan applications by developing relationships within the community, specifically with the real estate community; making sales calls to prospective customers.

* Responsible for meeting a minimum sales goal each month.

*  Communicates loan rates, programs and fees to borrowers and business sources.

* Performs review of mortgage loans by examining application and supporting documentation; estimating credit-worthiness; calculating repayment risk.

* Competes mortgage loans by monitoring collection, verification, and preparation of mortgage loan documentation; scheduling and completing mortgage loan closing.

* Protects credit union's image by keeping mortgage loan information confidential.

* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

* Accomplishes credit union's mission by completing related results as needed.

* Strong customer service skills.

* Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

* Fluency in Spanish preferred but not required.

* Strong knowledge of automated underwriting and processing systems.

* Demonstrate ability to understand and use computer-based credit scoring programs.
