Job Description for NEW ACCOUNTS REPRESENTATIVE

 

The New Accounts Representative will contribute to the profitability and growth of the Bank by selling and cross-selling all banking products/services to new and existing clients. The New Accounts Representative is knowledgeable in all new accounts transactions and of all Bank services and products. The New Accounts Representative  works with account officers by assisting with business development and provide teller back-up support as needed. 

 

Essential Job Functions

 

·Greets clients and establishes a quality service environment by displaying a friendly and courteous attitude.

·Services existing customer service base by facilitating account changes, documentation requirements, customer notices and check orders in a professional and expedient manner.  Initiates cross selling of bank products and identifies customer needs by active listening.  Builds professional relationships and rapport with customers. 

· Opens new accounts and assists customers with account questions as needed. 

· Quotes rates, terms and fees on all consumer products and services and provides product disclosures to clients as required.

· Initiates telemarketing calls on maturing accounts, leads, referrals, new account follow-ups and other prospecting opportunities. 

· Accurately processes customer transactions on an infrequent basis.  Such transactions include, but are not limited to, deposits, withdrawals, payments, check cashing and cash management. 

· Responsible for accurately determining all required documentation for the opening of all types of new accounts, and obtaining this information from internal and external 1st Century Bank customers. 

· Responsible for studying and understanding all regulatory changes and implementing timely changes in procedures as may be necessary to maintain a satisfactory level of regulatory compliance.

 

Experience

 

· 2+ years of banking experience

· Ability to establish and retain customer relationships and to cross-sell.

· Strong knowledge of new accounts legal documentation and account procedures.

· Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
