Network Engineer -- Cisco VOIP

Our client, a large financial institution in Birmingham Alabama, is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join their top-tier IT team. The network engineer will be part of a global team of engineers that design, implement, and maintain a large IP based global network. The network consists of Cisco routers, switches, VoIP technologies, and security devices.

The Network Engineer has the following responsibilities: Engineer and support LAN/WAN infrastructure consisting of Cisco switches and routers Engineer and support network security devices including Cisco VPN, Nokia/Checkpoint Firewalls, IDS, Bluecoat proxy Engineer and Support Cisco VoIP technologies Monitor network systems using HP Openview, CiscoWorks, and other tools Troubleshoot and resolve network issues

The ideal candidate would posess the following experience:

 5+ years hands-on experience configuring routers, switches and related network equipment (Cisco 12K, 10K, 7500, 3600, 2600 routers, Cisco 6500 and ATM products, Cisco MGX8850/8950 ATM switch, Cisco IOS.

 3 years experience in IP addressing and sub-netting, RIP, OSPF, BGP, Ethernet VLANs, PPP, Frame Relay, ATM, PNNI, DS0 through OC-48 circuits, CSU/DSUs, standard telephony/ethernet cabling plants.

 Strong network design, configuration and troubleshooting skills required.
