Prepare and monitor the daily and weekly work schedules of assigned employees to ensure equitable work distribution and uninterrupted customer service, making use of StaffSmart. Provide technical guidance and advice to assigned employees on work related problems. Provide input towards employee performance reviews, counseling etc. Interview new staff. Adhere to all Bank operational procedures and guidelines In conjunction with the Customer Service Manager, assume responsibility for the training and Cross-training of assigned employees, including scheduling and assignment of training priorities. Recognize sale referral opportunities and meet referral goals Resolve customer complaints and problems, referring to and/or advising supervisor of unresolved problems. Provide backup in critical operational areas during peak periods. Approve referred items within authorized limits. Has higher limits than grade 37. May perform any of the following functions: - Monitor cash levels at the branch and place cash orders or ship excess cash. - Verify and/or approve various documents and transactions, (e.g., G/L tickets, IBC's, Customer Charges, Deposits, etc.). - Assume responsibility for various reports and/or certifications. - If appropriate, utilize a second language to facilitate customer service.1 to 2 years previous work experience as the Operations Assistant I, or comparable work experience from a centralized Bank operations area. Requires the ability to understand and use the computer and all standard bank software. Requires previous direct experience in working with Bank processes, procedures and practices. Ability to communicate well with staff as well as customers. Generally work directs three+ CSA, CSR or CSS, but may be assigned other positions by management.Union Bank of California offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including a 401K plan.
