Operations & Client Services Specialist (Fixed Income)

TheMuniCenter (TMC) is a leading fixed income Alternative Trading System for Round-Lot (> $1 million) and Odd-Lot trading based in mid-town Manhattan.  Our platform supports over 900 buy/sell-side client-firms nationwide.  Our desktop applications are used on over 75,000 screens serving Registered Reps, Independent RIAs, Asset Management firms, Arbs/Hedge Funds, and Trading Departments.  We also enable the largest discount brokers for their online investors.

TMC is owned by 4 of the largest Wall Street fixed income dealers including Citi, Lehman, Merrill Lynch, and Morgan Stanley.

As an electronic "exchange", TMC specializes in riskless principal secondary trading of Tax-Exempts (Municipal Bonds) and Taxables (Agencies, Corporates, MBS, Treasuries) as well as certain primary markets (Agencies, CDs, MTNs, and Structured Products).  The TMC trading site is a live, anonymous, and two-sided (Bid/Offer) marketplace where it serves as the counterparty on both sides of the trade.

TMC seeks an Operations Specialist to work within our Clearing & Client Services organization reporting directly to the Director-Client Services.  Mandatory experience and qualifications include:

1.)  4-year college degree from an accredited university

2.)  3-5 years working within an operations/clearing and or settlement/client services environment--e.g., DTC and CNS settlement & Corporate Actions

3.)  Familiarity with all fixed income securities (Municipals, Corporates, MBS--CMOs, Auction Rate Securities, CDs, MTNs, US Govt. Agencies, Treasuries, etc.)

4.)  Proven understanding of the trade reconciliation and fail resolution

5.)  Ability to work in a team environment and independently (e.g., being a self-starter is essential; also having the capability to juggle many tasks concurrently)

6.)  Ability to take initiative in creating and improving procedures and processes

7.)  Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills

8.)  Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (including Excel and Powerpoint) and the acumen to learn our trading and settlement systems quickly

Note:  Although a Series 7 & 63 are not required, it would be a plus.  Potential candidates will have the opportunity to be sponsored for these FINRA licenses.
