Parts Logistics Director

Job Description:
This position provides leadership to the Field Service parts logistics operation for a major hardware break/fix operation. This individual will manage a staff of 40 currently operating in different facilities in the US. Position is Chicago based
and will report directly to the VP of Operations.

 

 

Responsibilities:

- Manage a warehouse consolidation into a single operation.

- Implement a new parts logistics system.

- Management a repair center

- Parts planning and procurement

- Supply Chain Vendor Development and Management

- Managing 450 field inventory parts locations throughout the US.

- Part distribution and inventory integrity.

- Create budgets

- Maximize inventory turns


Goals/Objectives:
Improve logistics operations and drive increased labor and materials efficiency and effectiveness. Provide a project plan and budget listing the needed staff, system, and support requirements to integrate the current various operations into one. Drive consistency and standardization in processes, procedures and systems to leverage share best business practices. Work closely with technical support and field management to develop company wide improvements. Drive month to month efficiency and cost savings through strong vendor management and process improvements.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum ten years experience related to leadership of field parts logistics operation.
- Direct experience with planning & distribution of parts.

- Proven successes in procurement, and field inventory management activities.
- Proven track record of driving efficiency and effectiveness in distributed multi depot and field stock locations

- Direct involvement in creating, negotiating, and managing agreements with suppliers.
- Strong relationship skills with all members of staff.

- Customer centric driven.

- Demonstrated ability to develop and roll-out complex organizational change.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and roll-out new system and a warehouse/repair consolidation.
- Bachelors degree in Logistics, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or Procurement with an emphasis on field service parts logistics operations.
