For more information, visit State Street's web site at www.statestreet.com Private Equity Accounting Manager, Vice President Job DescriptionThis senior managerial position is within the Private Equity Services Business Unit of the State Street Alternative Investment Services Group based in New York City. Fund Administration Director, VP's interact with all levels of professionals both internally and externally. Therefore, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required. Candidates must demonstrate high level initiative, be able to perform well under pressure and simultaneously direct multiple tasks. Specific responsibilities include:? Manage day-to-day communications with contacts of several clients, including investment professionals, other client personnel, investors, attorneys, auditors, bankers, etc.? Direct supervision of the Client Relationship Contact's that are assigned to several client teams; indirect supervision of PFA staff accountants and administrative team members.? Coordinate discussion and documentation of portfolio investment valuations with clients.? Full review of accounting and tax work paper packages, financial statements and other reports and communications for several clients.? Coordinate and manage annual audit and tax return preparation with Big 4 accounting firms, including negotiation or review of fees, as required.? Thorough review and understanding of investment fund legal documents, including complete understanding of partnership allocations and distribution waterfalls.? Assist with development and implementation of training all levels of accounting staff.? Assist with development of regular scheduling assignments for all levels of accounting staff.? Liaison with Vice President - Administrative Operations to ensure effective communication between accounting and administrative teams.? Coordinate and manage special client and corporate projects.? Assist with development and implementation of PFA accounting policies and procedures.? Assist with execution and implementation of FASB and other technical accounting pronouncements.? Represent PFA at client annual meetings and through participation in industry sponsored trade shows, seminars and other meetings.Candidates must have an accounting degree and at least 15 years of accounting experience, including 3 to 4 years of managerial experience.
