Project Analyst I Expense Accounting
Essential Job Functions: The Expense Accounting department is looking for a dynamic individual to join us as a project analyst. The department is responsible for the payment and compliance review of all District expenses as well as the expense allocation and cost/revenue processing. In addition, the payment and maintenance of all travel expenses and the System travel application support are housed in the department.
This position is the lead support analyst in Expense Accounting. In that capacity, the individual will be involved in all department operations. These include automated applications (Lawson, Travel Net, PACS, CORE), contingency operations, compliance and risk management activities, Travel Net CBAF responsibilities, security access coordination and budget monitoring.
The analyst will specifically be responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks:
• Providing backup analytical and technical support for the Travel Central Business Administration Function.
• Working with department management and peers to enhance the effectiveness, accuracy and efficiency of the unit’s business processes.
• Serving as the lead security administrator for the department.
• Performing ACF2 Liaison responsibilities for the department.
• Leading department contingency efforts.
• Ensuring that Expense Accounting operations are conducted in compliance with System, BOG, District, Department, PACS and audit standards and policies.
• Ensuring that detailed documentation is kept up-to-date.
• Assisting during internal audits, COSO reviews and Board exams.
• Applying sound technical skills such as analytical, written, and software knowledge, but must also demonstrate strong behavioral skills, particularly interpersonal skills, adaptability, and teamwork.
Position Requirements: Position Requirements:
• B.A./B.S., preferably in Business, Information Systems, Finance, Economics or Accounting.
• Minimum of two years of related experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Suite applications (Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated ability to use PC software and mainframe applications.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated quantitative and conceptual analytical ability.
• Ability to determine problem, gather research, and escalate intelligently.
• Excellent customer service and ability to interact with management at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to respond quickly and productively in a dynamic environment characterized by tight deadlines.
• Ability and willingness to learn new skills.
• Must be flexible to handle additional responsibilities when needed.
• High degree of independence in thought and action requires the analyst to be able to plan projects well in order to accomplish multi-tasking when required.

• Ability to exercise good judgment in the use of confidential or sensitive information pertaining to external and internal customers and operations.
