Additional information may be found at www.citigroup.com or www.citi.com Citi Inc. and its subsidiaries ("Citi") are equal opportunity employers M/F/D/V and do not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected status or characteristic.Description/ResponsibilitiesThe requirements and responsibilities for all aspects of the Technical Specialist Role include (but are not limited to) the following:• Provide analytical, technical, business and/or management expertise to the group.  Completeassignments that require this expertise• Respond to and resolve issues beyond standard management requests• Use independent judgment to make decisions where no clear precedents exist• Follow GWM Technology’s “people practices”, including long and short-term career   development for employees, mobility process, and diversity The Technical Specialist will serve as a major contributor to the FAPB Desktop program in Service Delivery.  The FAPB Desktop program is a strategic initiative to build GWM’s desktop of the future for financial advisers, private bankers and support staff.  This individual will provide technical leadership for his/her work stream to ensure the successful delivery of the FA PB Desktop and its various work stream programs. An overview of the responsibilities is as follows:Lead the individual project assigned by PM or AM, execute the project tasks, lead resources - day to day lead interaction with project team.Advise Client and PM on technical aspects of project in business terms.Collaborate with Project and Engagement Managers to ensure transparency of work.Awareness of various technology spaces including web architectures, work flow and common development tools.Must have prior experience as a developer on web, client server and/or mainframe platforms. Liaison with the offshore development teams and monitor their progress as part of extended team. The individual will also assume responsibilities to: Lead development of any the VB application converison web-based (Flex) views. Act as liaison and providing any required support for the FA PB Desktop and Business teams including Online Client Experience Team, NextGen, Strategic Planning and Shared Services. The Technical Specialist will work closely with his/her clients and must be able to develop strong, collaborative relationships with the business counterparts as well as the members of the development team, Shared Services and Strategy teams.Guidelines: Typically manages 1 major project in conjunction with several smaller development and production support issues, 2-6 FTEs. TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT• Act as technology expert for team, write code as needed, conduct project code reviews• Review project plans, code, and test results proactively; conduct peer reviews• Write technical design documents, set technology standards• Act as architect and technical specialist as neededCLIENT MANAGEMENT• Advise client and PM on all technical aspects of project (all phases)• Translation of business requirements• Play role of liaison during UAT testing• Assist in the client approval process for project estimates, financial budgets and client turnoversRESOURCE MANAGEMENT• Day to day interaction with project team• Provide input for performance appraisalsPROJECT ADMINISTRATION• Drive SDLC process• Involved with day-to-day discussions of project issues / interact with PM and team members• Make strategic recommendations to PM• Act as PM delegate as necessaryKnowledge/Skills5-7+ years experience in leading technical development teams; financial services experience preferred.Experience as a developer in the past on web n-tiered platforms.Proven track record of leading technical teams to complete and deliver projects; full lifecycle preferred.Ability to interface with multiple teams including other development teams, architecture/engineering, and business users. TECHNICAL SKILLS: MS Project, Project Management and Budgeting, Microsoft Office, Visio, Web Based Technologies; IBM WebSphere suite of products; SOA and FLEX.   Familiarity with DB2, PL SQL, JCL, Changeman, Salesforce.com and PMP certification a plus. NON-TECHNICAL SKILLS: Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to influence his/her staff as well as colleagues not under his or her immediate supervision, ability to interface with and build positive relationships with business counterparts and staff.  Familiarity with the Private Client Branch environment and the brokerage industry. Must be self-motivated and detail oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities in a demanding environment. Financial industry experience preferred.  Experience working and leading right placements a plus.
