Project Manager I-Community Affairs Relationship Manager

Under the direction of the Vice President/Managing Director – Community Affairs, this position is accountable for developing integrated community affairs plans and strategies, which achieve bank outreach and positioning goals. The Community Affairs Relationship Manager works collaboratively with the executive team and heads of major business lines, bankers and staff, marketing, corporate communications, diversity, sponsorships to facilitate execution of integrated community affairs plans. This role is also accountable for analysis and measurement.
Job Accountabilities:
-Develop community affairs plan for key business lines – notably Business Banking and the Private Bank – to achieve the plan goals – with standardized client response/customer service objectives across lines of business. Align efforts, allocation of time and resources to fit “One Harris” focus. A key component of job performance evaluation will be based on achieving these plan goals.
-Develop high-level integrated annual plan which includes specific community affairs programs, tactics and milestones/timetables to achieve business objectives.
- Develop/track/estimate budget.
- Ensure effective, on-going communication of community affairs plan, programs and tactics to interested/impacted work units, teams and departments to ensure engagement and successful execution.
- Participate in marketing integration efforts as appropriate.
-Coordinate responses for executive management on community issues, and draft community-related internal and external communications.
B. Project Management
-Ensure timely execution of integrated community affairs plan within budget.
- Identify appropriate financial resources to execute plan.
-Report progress vs. plan according to specified requirements/target dates.
- Serve as point person for implementation of new Pearl database.
C. Analysis and Measurement
-Analyze results of current community affairs efforts; prepare “business case” analyses.
-Use fact-based approach to recommend community affairs plan, with specific programs, tactics, promotions, etc.
-Assess and make recommendations on public affairs/public policy issues related to the bank and its corporate citizenship.
D. Relationship Management
-Foster effective business relationships throughout the organization to foster collaboration and partnerships
-Work in partnership with peers and internal opinion leaders to develop and refine community affairs processes, and plans to improve effectiveness and efficiency of corporate citizenship efforts. Actively share and collaborate to expand “best practices” and successful strategies.
-Effectively work with Lines of Business and key leaders to develop approaches that ensure timely execution of service standards.
-Represent the bank externally at key community functions and network effectively with opinion leaders and nonprofit leadership
Knowledge:
a. Business & Industry Knowledge: general knowledge of banking/financial services industry, monitor trends and developments in world of corporate philanthropy, keep abreast of competitor activities & strategies
b. Understand plans, marketing goals, objectives for lines of business and districts
c. Community Affairs Knowledge: general knowledge of corporate citizenship goals within a corporation.
d. Analytical Approaches to evaluate philanthropic/marketing/sponsorship opportunities/proposals: understanding and general proficiency with various approaches to analyze these opportunities (client satisfaction, supporting board members appropriately, alignment with marketing/business opportunities)

Education/Experience:
Minimum of five years of relevant business experience along with a college or advanced degree in marketing, public relations, business administration or other relevant field. Experience working in a community affairs/corporate relations/public relations department in a corporation is highly desired
