Regional Lender

Silverton Bank, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is a leading national correspondent bank chartered specifically to serve the needs of community financial institutions across the United States.  We are looking for a Regional Lender for the Alabama Market for our Birmingham office.  The Regional Lender will be responsible for soliciting, developing and servicing a wide variety of commercial loans and lines of credit for a geographic area. Responsible for complete credit analysis/credit worthiness for the loan approval process. Typically responsible for loan portfolios with total commercial loan assets of $80million plus. Helps oversee Commercial Loan Underwriters  Major Responsibilities: Responsible for aggressively soliciting, developing and servicing a wide variety of commercial loans and lines of credit. Qualifying prospects by collecting and analyzing financial and related data in order to determine the general credit worthiness of the prospect and the merits of the specific loan requests. Overseeing the completion of the loan approval form, including careful underwriting of the loan so that the structure meets the needs of the borrower, customer bank and Silverton Bank. Obtaining appropriate approval for the credit under consideration. Establishing and negotiating the terms under which credit will be extended to include pricing, costs repayment method and schedule, collateral requirements, etc. Collecting the loan. Monitoring the performance of the borrower over the life of the loan. Recognizing developing problems and bringing then to the attention of management. Recognizing developing problems and bringing them to the attention of management. For any credit rated Management Attention or worse, immediately developing a strategy to return the credit to pass rating, or exit. Working with the borrower and originating bank to implement this strategy. Properly risk rating all credits. Pruning the portfolio of potential and identified problem loans. Monitor loan covenants.
