Join our expanding subsidiary of our international financial services institution -seeking a Registered Investment Advisor. The individual in this position will be splitting their time between three different locations in the Washington D.C. Area.



This position assists members and non-members in achieving their financial goals by offering a wide range of financial products and services. This is accomplished through thorough examination of the member’s personal financial profile and offering the solutions that will benefit those specific needs. ACCOUNTABILITIES

Ø Build a fee-based book of business by focusing on the gathering of member and non-member assets.

 

Ø Meet with members and non-members through referrals and walk-ins; ask probing questions to reveal what investment options would be best for each member. Design a long-term investment strategy for each member and non-member.

 

Ø Analyze the financial situation of our members and non-members to assess which investment opportunities would fit their needs best.

 

Ø Monitor the effectiveness and satisfaction level of each member and non-member by contacting him or her periodically to discuss the financial plan.

 

Ø Participate in investment seminars, which introduce members and non-members to the products and services offered by the Investment Centre.

 

Ø Cross-sell products and services offered by other departments throughout the Credit Union if appropriate.

 

Ø Monitor the special occasions within a member and non-member’s life through which a new investment opportunity might arise.

 DESIRED COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE

An incumbent in this position must possess a full range of knowledge in investments, insurance products and financial planning for both domestic as well as offshore situations. Must possess strong business development and relationship management skills. Work assignments require the use of independent judgment on all investment issues. Exceptional service and communication skills required. A typical pathway to obtaining the requisite knowledge and skills is graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in finance, with at least five years of experience in an investment area. Must posses Series 65 certification. CFP designation highly desirable as well as other professional designations such as Life and Health License, CPA, CFA & JD. Fluency in Spanish is required.

 

 WORK ENVIRONMENT

An incumbent works under standard office conditions.

 

 

In addition to any specific job requirements in connection with Bank Secrecy Act and/or OFAC (BSA), employee must (i) be aware of BSA matters commensurate with the position; (ii) report any suspicious activity to the manager or compliance department; and (iii) satisfactorily complete any required BSA training.
