Invest in you! Responsible for assisting branch and division in meeting or exceeding small business productions goalsto include HH Retention, HH Acquisition, HH depth (to include deposits, investments and loans) and Fee Income/Referrals as it relates to Targeted Small Business and Other Small Businesses as a percentage and number.  Responsible for independently calling on prospects as well as existing customers in portfolio to grow and retain the business relationships and the branch portfolio. Manage business depository and loan relationships. Increase the Bank's share of customer's total relationship through cross sales and working with customers to present solutions to short and long term strategic objectives to their financial needs and goals. Regularly introduce customers to other areas of the Bank to service special needs. Monitor and enhance profitability of all Small Business relationships. Perform ongoing portfolio management and servicing. Ability to monitor the growth, acquisition and deepening of small business branch relationships translating the results to an understanding and plan on how to meet the branches goals on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Provide support to branch staff and priority unit (if applicable). Initiate, negotiate, package, service and support small business loans, deposits, investments, global trade and cash management products. Oversee the accurate documentation of all types of loans and deposit products in accordance with Bank’s policies and procedures to include audit and compliance. Maintain a detailed and complete tracking system of all small business branch customers. Organize andimplement a financial planning program and proposals, which best meets their needs. Understand the growth and profitability potential of each Customer as well as the branch portfolio.  Implement a calling program in coordination with the branch manager within trade area with the objective of acquiring new small business customers to the branch. Demonstrate the ability to initiate, advance and close new business opportunities. Leverage all appointments made by the Sales Center by meeting or exceeding the appointment conversion goal of the branch. Responsible for cross-selling other bank products and services, such as Cash Management, Trade Finance, Demand Deposits to existing customers and prospective business customers through this organized calling program. Actively participate in external community activities in order to promote Union Bank of California and develop a business referral network. Make joint customer/prospect calls with other bank departments as appropriate. Keep abreast of trends in the financial industry and the overall goals and objectives of the bank. Servicing and Supporting Customer Base to include Branch Customer, and Branch/Priority Unit Staff. Work closely as a "team player" with all department members to provide superior service to Customers, branch staff and branch assigned priority unit. Work closely with Commercial Credit Center, Direct Banking Center, Bank Ops, Cash Management Servicing Center personnel to assure customers receive superior support.This is a portfolio, relationship management position that requires at least 5-7 years of direct small business experience in the areas of relationship management, business development, product knowledge, servicing skills and commercial credit.Typically 5+ years of demonstrated work experience in independently handling work activities.Strong sales, service and organizational skills, the ability to recognize customer needs and match them to bank products. Ability to close the sale and communicate effectively with customers of varying levels of business sophistication. Ability to work well with branch, department and center staff.Requires effective communication with all levels of management.Requires extensive relationship management experience and proven credit skills.  Work closely with branches by providing AFS support, and accountable for growth of Small Business Portfolio of their assigned branch.  College degree preferred.Union Bank of California offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including a 401K plan.
