SQL Database Administrator

Boston Private Bank and Trust Company provides banking and investment services to individuals, their families and their business. It has an investment management emphasis on mid to large cap equity and actively managed fixed income portfolios. Boston Private Bank and Trust Company also offers a First Time Homebuyer Program and "soft second" mortgage financing. Under its Accessible Banking Program, the Bank is an active provider of real estate financing for economic development, small business and affordable housing. 




We are seeking a SQL Database Administrator to join our growing Application Support and Development Team.  This qualified person will support and develop SQL Database enhancements to new and existing bank and holding company applications.

 
Responsibilities:

Serve as a technical resource for support and development of SQL 2000, 2005 databases.Serve as the senior SQL Database Administrator supporting and integrating vendor provided financial and data warehouse applications for the bank’s business units: Deposit & Cash Management, Investment Management, Commercial Lending and Residential Mortgage.

·  Work with project managers and team members to enhance and support the company’s application portfolio including the CRM, core banking, finance, operations, compliance, business intelligence and image processing systems.

·  Assist application owners with unit testing, regression testing, script testing, user acceptance testing.

·  Work with Application Support and Development team members to develop and maintain application support documentation for the bank’s suite of applications. 




Qualifications:



·  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent and 5+ years of technical application support experience.

·  SQL programming skills including:

o SQL Server 2000, 2005 install, upgrade and patch.

o SQL Performance monitoring and tuning

o Working knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

o SQL security management and capacity planning

o Extensive T-SQL knowledge

o DTS package development

·  Application Support experience with financial and data warehouse applications.

·  Strong ability to manage existing and new vendors, their application(s) and services.

·  Proven experience analyzing system performance, data flow and data integrity.



 

·  Additional experience and familiarity with the following technologies a plus:

o C++

o Visual Basic Development

o ASP Programming

o Internet Information Server (IIS)

o VBScript

o ColdFusion

 

 

·  Familiarity with the following financial systems a plus:

o Fiserv CBS

o ONYX

o Prime

o Synergy

o Fundtech/PayPlus
